Project Aims
- To strengthen the capacity of the community individually and collectively to protect local water cycle in the Kudadodanathathawa village.
- To introduce participatory water management system with Climate Resilient Smart Agriculture and skills for alternative income generating activities.
- To promote engagement of women and school children as lead players in protecting water resources
- To facilitate establishing and maintaining a tree cover with indigenous tree species and soil conservation measures
Expected results/outcomes:
- Well-functioning Water Resource Protection Society taking leadership to plan and implement.
- Improved water cycle in Kudadodanathathawa
- Men and women practicing Climate Smart agriculture and alternative livelihoods less vulnerable to impacts of climate change.
- Village land with tree cover and less soil erosion
- Women and children actively participating in water and soil conservation measures
Principal activities carried out within the framework of the project:
The activities include, (1) Establish Water Protection society (2). Provide training on organizational management and climate resilient livelihoods (3.) Establish a tree cover in sensitive locations with soil conservation measures. Details in page 13

In addition, other Community Based Organizations (CBO) in the area, such as Farmer Organizations, Rural Water Management Society and similar organizations will be consulted during the implementation.

SAP-Nepal arranged several events by mainstreaming human rights events and then followed up with 6 subsequent events team was busy in celebrating historical movements at Kathmandu.
On 7 December 2018, team joined in preparatory meeting of 16 days of activism organized at SAP Falcha. The event addressed the state and non-state actors to develop action plans for the celebration. On 10 December 2018 the team engaged in national mass rally organized among 165 NGOs/ INGOs stating strategical movement of CSOs in federalization of Nepal. Similarly, SAP-Nepal had been partnering for preparing and finalizing content of CSOs action to raise human right issues with substantial evidences through media documentary with Saujanya Media Pvt. LTD which has been circulated among national and international dignitaries.
CSOs contribution in securing Human rights in Nepal was organized on 13 December 2018 in Kathmandu which was attended by Member of National Human Right Commission Ms. Mohana Ansari, Right Activist Mr. Kapil Shrestha and Ms. Lily Thapa. 70 participants (28 female) attended the event. Contributors of the event mentioned about the undeniable contribution made by CSOs for citizens cause and shared the challenges in present context. Finally, CSOs drew an attention of the NHRC to reinforce concerned officials to undertake cases regarding human right violation seriously.
In the summary event, 14 December 2018, SAP-Nepal was honored as an essential contributor for the cause by Magna Meet Committee among 500 participants in Administrative College, Jawalakhel.
